who am i, and why am i bothering you?

my name is seth ciferri.

ive been tattooing since 1993, when i served an apprenticeship at a street-shop, outside of baltimore maryland. shortly after the first few poorly applied marks were made, i started tinkering with my equipment. one thing led to another, and a few years later, i was being asked to build tattoo machines for some of the most recognized artists in the business.

i've spent the majority of my career tattooing full time, and building machines when time would allow. however, in 2007, i embarked on a much needed hiatus from tattooing, which was precipitated by an injury, and subsequent surgery to my right hand, and focused on machine making, full time.

upon moving to portland, for a change of scenery, in summer of 2008, i discovered that not only was it possible to conduct virtually all production related business locally, but that it was strongly encouraged. "buy local!" is plastered on almost every business's window in this town, and i'd be a fool to not take advantage of the vast range of resources here. quite simply, i get good stuff, in a timely manner, from local craftsmen and manufacturers who take great pride in their work. this simple ethos has made me love living and working in portland, and i feel as if i've become a part of the very thing which convinced me to move here.

machine building has been my full time occupation for the last 3 years, however in recent months i've been traveling a lot for guest spots in friend's shops, and to work at conventions. my energy for tattooing has been renewed, and i've taken co-ownership in a new shop in milwaukie called "Mr Tattoo".

now we get to the part about why i'm bothering you...

when i was setting this shop up, i figured that i had all bases covered. i'd located everything i needed, from flash, to chairs, to an autoclave, signs, you name it... did the build-out, got the licenses, hired the artists... but on the night before we were set to open, it dawned on me that we had NO supplies. what? we don't have cups? razors? dental bibs? thermofax paper? gloves?!!

i'd no idea how the hell i'd forgotten to gather this stuff, but surely there had to be a tattoo supplier locally, since there's almost 100 shops in this town, right?

RIGHT?!

well, there is now.

i'm seth ciferri, and i'd love to handle your shop supply needs.
